This class is perfect for teens and adults who dream of making their own music but aren’t sure where to start. We’ll take songs apart and try to put them back together, and in the process learn tools and concepts that can help us make new songs of our own. By the end, you’ll have original tracks to share with the world, plus an understanding of theory and music technology that can help you get to the next level. This class is based in a Digital Audio Workstation and prior experience with music is not required.

About Synthase Classes

Developed and taught by doctoral candidates at Yale and Duke, Synthase classes meet online in small groups (no more than eight) and follow an innovative pedagogical system that develops musical fluency while nurturing a love of music. All classes are open to students aged 13 and up.
